The end of June marked a change in our national organization – the Unitarian Universalist Association. On the ballot was a vote on our bylaws, namely the defining principles and values. No matter the outcome of this vote, there will be people who feel hurt, upset or betrayed. The question for us is: what does membership look like in an organization with which we are in disagreement, anger or frustration? Can we – as individuals or communities – be part of something larger than ourselves when we aren’t in complete agreement?
