Merely having the “right” ideas will not get us through. Unless we can translate our ideas into practices, we will not be able to transform everyday stresses and the uncertainties and “overwhelm” of our time. Cultivating practices that will nurture and sustain us and our congregations and other communities is a necessity.
In her book, The Age of Overwhelm, Laura van Dernoot Lipsky “tells the truth about how today’s culture of overdrive, distraction, rapid response, and scarcity affects our lives, connections with one another, and our physical and emotional well-being.” In this service, we’ll explore practices that can inform and transform our responses to “overwhelm.”
