Be sure to join us, and to invite family and friends, for a special service led by author, poet, rabbi and teacher Sheila Weinberg and assisted by our own Reverend Larry Peers. Rabbi Weinberg will share her reflections as a spiritual person on her recent trips to Israel/Palestine, Eastern Europe, and Montgomery, Alabama. During her trip to Israel/Palestine, she met with Combatants for Peace—former Israeli soldiers and Palestinians dedicated to peace and non-violence.
Rabbi Weinberg speaks and leads retreats around the country and served as a congregational leader for seventeen years. She has published widely on such topics as feminism, spiritual freedom, spiritual direction, parenting, social justice, and mindfulness. She is a creator and co-leader of the Jewish Mindfulness Teacher Training Program. Following the service, she will offer brief readings from her most recent book, God Loves the Stranger: How to Find Peace and Harmony in an Unsettled World.
