Each month the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Social Action Committee selects a charity that meets the values and principles of Unitarian Universalism. Our Share-the-Plate partner for January is Project H.E.A.R.T.H., “Helping Elderly Adults Remain in Their Homes”.
The program is under the Family Services of Montgomery County Umbrella. Through the H.E.A.R.T.H. program, older adults who are 60 years of age and older are helped to remain independent in their homes through volunteer supportive services. Low income clients are subsidized by foundation grants, and are offered household chores, friendly visiting, transportation and errand services by trained volunteers.
