Each month the Thomas Paine Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Social Action Committee selects a charity that meets the values and principles of Unitarian Universalism. This month’s recipient is the Bread of Life Community Café of Norristown. The Bread of Life Community Café is a ministry of the All Saints Episcopal Church of Norristown.

This is what they do:
- What? The Cafe serves a full-course hot dinner. Volunteers cook, serve, and clean up.
- Where? All Saint’s activity room (lower level of the building).
- When? Dinner is served on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Saturday of each month, from 5:00-6:00 pm. Food preparation is often done in advance.
- Who? A team of 10-20 volunteers typically serves 50-100 dinner guests. There are no requirements or restrictions. The meal is open to everyone. Volunteers come from area churches and the community.
Our TPUUF community forms a team and we head down to Norristown to cook, serve, and clean up on a schedule that is about every other month. All of our TPUUF volunteers enjoy having a chance to help others. Your monetary donation will help the Bread of Life coordinators obtain food for 80+ people that come to these dinners every time they are open for a giving meal. Our next time for TPUUF to volunteer is September 28th. Please keep the date open.
