Remembering with Intention and a Call to Peace

On Memorial Day, we are called to remember the cost of war. We honor those who bore that cost, whether with their life in combat or with their sanity, health or longevity over time. Rick Cole will speak about his service as a nurse in the Navy. Doug Spandau will talk about his father’s book Lost Diary: A True War Story. We can debate differences between just and unjust wars, between heroic sacrifice and tragic waste of life, but as Unitarian Universalists, we are called to remember war and sacrifice with integrity, and to work for peace in our communities and in the world.
