May Book Discussion: I’m Starting To Worry About This
Black Box of Doom, by Jason Pargin – Sunday, May 25th

Outside Los Angeles, a driver pulls up to find a young woman sitting on a large black box. She offers him $200,000 cash to transport her and the box across the country, to Washington, DC.

But there are rules. He cannot look inside the box. He cannot ask questions. He cannot tell anyone. They must leave immediately. He must leave all trackable devices behind.

As these eccentric misfits hit the road, rumors spread on social media that the box is part of a carefully orchestrated terror attack intended to plunge the USA into civil war.

The truth promises to be even stranger, and may change how you see the world.

Coming up in June: Remarkably Bright Creatures, by Shelby Van Pelt – Sunday, June 29th
Tova Sullivan, a widow, and Marcellus, a curmudgeonly octopus, form an unlikely friendship. When Marcellus deduces that Tova’s son disappeared at sea 30 years ago, he must use every trick he can muster, to unearth the truth for her before it’s too late.

Have a book you would like to discuss? We are taking suggestions for later in the year! Book club selections should have popular appeal, connect to one or more Unitarian Universalist Principles, and be widely available in public libraries. Please see or email Renee Pigeon or Nicole Ruser with suggestions.
