President’s Message – April 2026

As we enter the month of May — a season of blossoming and renewal — I find myself reflecting on the Soul Matters theme of Awakening Curiosity. Curiosity is the quiet spark at the heart of our Unitarian Universalist faith. It invites us to ask deeper questions, listen more fully, and remain open to truths still unfolding. It is one way we live out our commitment to honor the inherent worth and dignity of every person — by approaching one another with genuine interest and care.

Curiosity also opens us to the wider world. It encourages us to wonder, explore and embrace complexity rather than retreat from it. In a time when certainty can feel comforting, our values remind us that growth often begins with a question. What might we learn if we listened more deeply? What new possibilities might emerge if we allowed ourselves to be surprised?

May offers many opportunities to live into this spirit. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we honor the many forms of nurturing love in our lives. Memorial Day invites reflection on history, sacrifice and the ongoing work of peace.

Here at TPUUF, awakening curiosity is something we practice together — through worship, conversation, service, and simple moments of connection. As we welcome the beauty of this season, may we lean into curiosity with open hearts and minds, ready to be transformed by what we discover.

In fellowship,
Linda
