Minister’s Message – June 2026 – Flourishing Together

Summer often brings change for our schedules — schools are on break and many people taking vacations from work. I hope that the summer brings some moments of less obligation for you. In June our ministry theme is flourishing, which I take to encompass theological reflection and introspection. Whether or not you have extra “free time,” it is possible to make time for spiritual practices that help us flourish in our faith — that is, to help ground us and connect us to something larger than ourselves. June’s spiritual practice is to try out a spiritual practice!

Each month this year I introduced a new spiritual practice, a way of engaging with our ministry themes in a personal and embodied way. In June and over the summer, please try out one that you skipped or one you want to revisit. The spiritual practices can be found in this document: 2025/26 Spiritual Practices. As a minister, it is one of my deepest desires that you are more connected to your faith in personal and transformative ways. Spiritual practices help to deepen our grounding and our connection to the infinite. Best wishes on your ongoing journey of faith!

The summer does bring a change to my home life and my schedule is much more sporadic. As such, my normal “office days” are on hold until the fall. Don’t worry, though — I’m still available! I’m happy to chat and meet
in person. I can be reached via phone (412-327-3731) or email (minister@tpuuf.org).
