EMBODYING RESILIENCE
February 2026
For me, the task of embodying resilience brings to mind hard work, attacking adversity and pushing past difficulties. Resilience is all of those things, but it also making sure that we have the time to mentally and physically rest. More important than pushing our endurance is making sure that we can recharge. February’s spiritual practice is to take a break! Strive for shorter breaks more often and a longer break at least once a day. You can take a break by watching a movie, running, baking, reading, meditating, praying, going out for coffee, seeing friends, taking a nap, playing video or board games, sewing…any of these activities and more. Just be mindful about setting aside time and be sure you aren’t checking things off your to-do list. Your worthiness is not related to how much you produce or how busy you are. So let go and take a break!
For some great ideas about how specifically to take a break, here is an article from Inc. Magazine online with 52 different ways to take a break: tinyurl.com/TakeABreakTPUUF. Life is hard, make sure to embody resilience by recharging and recuperating!
Take it easy and recharge this month. If you want to take a break with me, I’d be happy to go for a walk, get a coffee, sit and chat or play a game. Let me know! I can be contacted via phone (412-327-3731), e-mail (minister@tpuuf.org) or in person at TPUUF (Thursdays, Sundays I preach & other times by appointment).
With Resilience,
